www.interscaldis.nl

The King’s Own Scottish Borderers” erg hecht.

I WAS SO PLEASED AND EXTREMELY HAPPY TO HEAR OF THE BUGLES TO BE ENTERED INTO THE CADET TRAINING SCHEDULE.IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL TO HEAR A BUGLE SECTION RETURNED TO THE Q.O.R.OF CANADA TO BRING IT BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHERE PEOPLE WOULD FLOCK OUT ONTO THE STREET TO HEAR AND WATCH THE SMARTEST REGIMENT MARCH PAST TO THAT WONDERFUL MILITARY MARCHING MUSIC AND PERHAPS HERE THE SOLDIERS OF THE Q.O.R.SINGING "WE ARE THE BOYS OF THE Q.O.R.,YOUVE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT WERE NOT THE LEAST STUCK UP ABOUT THE FAMOUS THINGS WEVE DONE " AND SO ON. ASK ANY VETERAN OF DAYS GONE BY AND I CAN GUARANTY THEY WILL AGREE WITH ME . I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ACTION. YOURS TRULY WO2 JOE SMITH CD (RETIRED)

This is a great site. Thank you for providing it. You and your visitors here may be interested in a related website, The Original Wireless Set No. 19 Group, at http://www.qsl.net/ve3bdb. The Group gets its name from the famous World War Two 19 set, which today is collected, restored and used by Radio Amateurs the world over.

I came across your web site by accident. Thought it was quite interesting. My father was the Regimental Medical sergeant and the Bugle Major of the Queen's Own Rifles when they landed on D-Day. He was with the Regiment from 1924 to 1954 and decorated for bravery two times during the war in Europe. It was nice to see the Regiment remembered in this way!
